Patients & Visitors Guidebook

Parham Campus

We offer a number of special services as a convenience to our patients and visitors. We also have some guidelines to be observed when visiting our facility. Please scroll down for facts you'll want to know when you visit us.

Visiting Hours
Family members and guests are welcome to visit patients during regular visiting hours, as follows:

Regular Hospital (Daily) 11:00-8:30

Critical Care (1st floor) (Daily) 10:00 - 10:30, 1:00 -1:30, 5:00 - 5:30, 8:00 - 8:30

Physical Rehabilitation (4th floor)
Immediate caregivers (Daily) 9:00 - 9:00
General visitation (Weekdays) 3:00 - 9:00
General visitation (Weekends) 12:00 - 9:00

Cafeteria
Family members and guests are welcome to dine in the cafeteria daily. The cafeteria is located on the ground floor, behind the Gift Shop.

Vending machines are located in the Cafeteria and in the vestibule outside the Emergency Room waiting room.

Family members and guests, for a charge, may also request to have a meal tray delivered to the patient’s room. To request this service, please contact the nurse.

Pastoral Care
The services of a chaplain are available to patients and their families at any time upon request or referral. Area clergy of various denominations and faiths assist the hospital chaplain in providing emotional and spiritual support during a time of illness or crisis. The nursing staff will be glad to contact the chaplain or any other clergy person that you wish to see. The nondenominational Prayer Room is located on the ground floor behind the Information Desk and is available to patients and visitors.

Gift Shop
The Gift Shop is located off the main lobby. They sell a variety of gift items, candy, magazines, and books. The Gift Shop is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. and on Saturdays and Sundays from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Interpreters/Hearing Impaired
The hospital has access to interpreters for a variety of foreign languages should a patient require this service. Please see the nursing supervisor on your floor to make arrangements.

Patients who are hearing impaired may request a telecommunications device through the Admitting Office at 747-5766 (ext 5766) or they may tell their nurse. Patients may also request a telecommunications device to communicate with a hearing impaired relative or friend. Arrangements can also be made to provide a qualified individual to assist the hearing impaired with communication needs. Please alert your nurse as to this request.

Overnight Visitors
Henrico Doctors' Hospital - Parham has special accommodations for the families of our out-of-town patients. Discounted room rates have been arranged with several nearby hotels. For more information, have your nurse or doctor’s office call 747-5711.

Parking
Patients and visitors may park in the front of the hospital. Day surgery patients have designated parking at the rear of the hospital. If you leave your car in the parking lot during your stay, please make sure it is locked. The hospital cannot assume any responsibility for any loss or damage to motor vehicles. Smoking Policy
Smoking is strictly prohibited throughout the hospital. However, there are designated smoking areas outside the main entrance and near the Emergency Center entrance.

Telephone
Most Henrico Doctors’ Hospital - Parham patient rooms may be contacted directly by dialing 967 + 5 + the patient room number. The main number for the hospital is 747-5600.

Television
A remote-control television set with pillow speaker is provided in each room. Patients may choose from a wide variety of cable stations provided by AT&T Broadband.
